World’s Mysterious Places

Have you ever heard the mysterious stories and abandoned places in central florida? or have you ever visit the mysterious place in europe. today let us discuss something mysterious, mysterious places, mysterious islands all about worlds mysterious places.
Nazca Lines
• Between the Andes mountains and the coast of Peru lie the Nazca lines, a series of huge geometric patterns visible only from the sky.
• In perfectly straight lines etched into the desert, some of the patterns measure as much as two soccer fields in length and form shapes like a monkey, a phoenix, and a spider.
• The lines of the drawings range from as little as 15 cm to as big as hundreds of meters in width, and cover an area of 500km. Some are big as four football fields!
• According to archeologists, the last of the lines were etched about 1,000 years ago, probably by the Nazca Indians, an extinct tribe of ancient farmers. But why they did it and why the patterns can only be seen from the sky remains a mysery.
Easter Island

• Easter island was given its name when it was discovered by the dutch on easter day in 1722.
• It is an island made up of grassy hills, with hardly any trees, which is unusual for an area with a tropical climate.
• The only inhabitants of the island are the 887 stone statues called moai—some only one meter in height, others as tall as 21 meters
• Some of the statues weigh as much as 160 tons.
• Almost all of the statues are said to have come from the same quarry, called rano raraku. How they were moved from rano raraku, and what they were for, is unknown.
