Open Degree Program with Available Slots in Upcat
Posted by ramicaJan 18
We’ve got the results yesterday and my sister passed the UPCAT 2010 but she got an open degree program with available slots under the category of courses. So what does open degree program with available slots mean. It only means that you should choose another degree program that will accommodate you.
Am I qualified in University Admission?
Yes. Because in order to be qualified you have to pass the campus standard and the degree program you’ve chosen. You are qualified to UP campus but your UP grade didn’t meet the standards in the open program you choose.
So the next question is what is that open degree program with available slots?
Those are the courses that have available slots. There are many courses that did not reach the quota limit because many examinees failed under those courses or many examinees passed the certain course or program that didn’t confirm they enrollment. In addition, those courses or programs are the non-quota programs in UP. See the list of UP non-quota programs/courses here.
How can you know the open degree program with available slots?
You will receive a mail in February with a preferred course offered by the university and with subjects that you have to take.
What if you didn’t like the program that is offered?
You can study in different university and then transfer after a year, or just take the available slot or course for you. Study hard, maintain an uno grade for the major subject, then shift after a year to your desired course.
